    The European Union imposed new economic sanctions on Russia today that may be suspended if Moscow withdrew its forces from Ukraine and has committed to a ceasefire. Some items will make the Russian State-owned companies to raise funds in the EU more difficult, and it is expected that these sanctions include among other things the ' oil company rosneft ' and ' Gazprom ' company and not the gas company itself but the gas supplier to the European Union. 24 others were added to the list of prohibited from entering EU Nations whose assets have been frozen in the EU, a senior diplomat of the European Union participated in the talks said the ambassadors agreed on a package of sanctions against persons and sectors of the Russian economy, is expected to be operational on Monday, stressing that there must be a ceasefire for the lifting of the sanctions.

    In a letter to the heads of State and Government, the outgoing President of the European Council and the Commission, Jose Manuel Barroso and Herman van rompuy, respectively, to these new sanctions now recognized at the level of the Committee of permanent representatives of the Member States of the European Union.     A diplomatic source said that this package of measures will be published in the official journal of the European Union to enter into force and probably Monday after formally confirming, in another diplomatic source said it was proof that EU governments are willing to do what is necessary in order to show them the consequences of their actions.
